When a child needs to have a procedure in hospital this can be a very stressful and scary time for them. As a parent you worry about what is wrong with your child and if your child is going to be ok. Understanding what happens during hospital procedures and explaining them to your child is not easy. Your child might feel anxious when the nurse needs to use a needle to take a blood sample, have a skin prick test or when they have to go into the MRI or CT scanner.

The WWCIH charity works in close partnership with the NHS and has filmed in the Royal Hospital for Children Glasgow, the Royal Hospital for Sick Children Edinburgh, Aberdeen Children's Hospital, Ninewells Hospital in Dundee and Raigmore Hospital in Inverness to make videos to help children and parents prepare for hospital and answer some of their questions starting with What? and Why?
