General
When children need different tests or treatments in hospital, it can be helpful for parents and children to see what is going to happen. Our videos show step by step what happens and what children feel during an injection, infusion with biologics, blood test, having a general anaesthetic or skin prick test to check for allergies or eye check for Uveitis. We also made videos with ideas for pretend play to help younger children play their teddy is having a general anaesthetic or getting a cannula. Children who are prepared for a hospital procedure feel less anxious, more in control and are better able to complete the tests. We also developed three videos to show English, Polish and Arabic speaking families how to register at a GP practice and access healthcare.
